This year the Festival Management Committee (FMC) initiated a program to educate children in the Toronto area elementary and high schools on our Caribbean culture and Carnival. I was so blessed to partake in the "MAS MAKING" workshop. "C is for Carnival" has been making its way into school libraries and classrooms, thanks to educators, librarians and parents. This year, I have read to over 24, 000 students (some in the US too). I intend to continue celebrating my culture in literature. Kids deserve joyful, educational story times!
